Samsung could avoid infringement of Apple’s multi-touch technology

Jury verdict in Apple v. Samsung lawsuit, announced that Apple’s tab-to-zoom (double tap with one finger to zoom in, single tap with two fingers to zoom out) patents (US7844915, US7864163) were infringed by Samsung’s smartphones at issue. Even if it was not asserted for infringement, Apple also holds a patent (US7812826) for the famous pinch-to-zoom, which is included in the Samsung smartphones’ features.

According to Yonhapnews in S. Korea, Samsung could avoid infringement of Apple’s multi-touch technologies utilizing “invented in Korea” technology: circle-to-zoom (KR1011325980000). You can zoom in and out by rotating your touch finger! (watch the operation in YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48auZ6kPooQ).

Maybe the circle-to-zoom is not "invented in Korea".

The patent application was filed in September 10, 2009. There was circle-to-zoom in album application on smartphone devices at least in June, 2008.
